2/1: Snow and silence

This morning the kids were excited to discover a few inches of wet, clumpy snow had fallen overnight. Right after breakfast, we headed out to quickly build a snowman, throw a few snowballs and pull them around the yard in the sled before it all melted away.

Later, we took them downtown to the Virginia State Capitol, where we stood in silent protest with over 1000 others against several bills that threaten to severely impede the rights of women.  I took this shot on the way back to our car on the return home.
