Welcome to the Sketchbook Concern! After completing a year-long photography project, I wanted to switch gears while maintaining the creative momentum. So 2012’s project is about honing a long-unused skill: sketching. In addition to drawing, I continue to work in photography and my primary medium, mosaic, and will post works in those media from time to time. Five posts per week, each consisting of at least one sketch, photograph or mosaic. Blog updated at least weekly. Numbers in post titles refer to the week / post, so 9/4 means Week 9/ Post 4.

As for me, I’m Johannah. Mosaic artist at Phoenix Handcraft. Mama to two little ones, staunch environmentalist, long-time vegetarian, dabbling in unschooling. When I can find the time, hiking and art museums for fun.
